Here we go ya’ll! I’ve been DYING to share my wedding photos, and here is pretty much the entire gallery. From the beginning, all we wanted was something small, and totally us. If you know Dusty + I, then you know we rent cabins ALL the freaking time, and love to explore. After we got engaged, we kept talking about the perfect spot to get married. I really wanted to get married at a National Park, and Dusty really wanted somewhere with water + mountains.
So from there, I just searched across my favorite photographers instagram feeds, and for elopement inspiration on Green Wedding Shoes, and Junebug weddings. I finally saw a few photos of Diablo Lake at North Cascades National Park, and immediately showed Dusty. A few weeks later, we drove all the way there (8 hours with all that Seattle traffic!!) We had the best freaking time exploring around the park, and even went for a tiny swim…the water was FREEZING! Hahah Right when we saw the lookout point, we knew it was perfect. The next step was to find a big cabin or campsite that could fit our 35 closest family + friends. As we were driving back home, we saw “Glacier Peak Resort”. This place isn’t much of a resort, but it does have the cutest cabins, all next to each other, a game room, a little diner, + even some hot tubs. And ITS DOG FRIENDLY! We walked inside and booked the whole weekend for all our friends and family. We couldn’t believe how well it all came together! Seriously it was a dream come true.
Here are some photos from our day exploring…

We couldn’t be more thankful for all these amazing people + friends who made it happen!
The night before our wedding, we all made a bonfire, drank, ate smores and hung out together. The next morning was the big day! I got up super early, way too excited to sleep, and just played with Zeus in the field and rewrote my vows like fives times because my handwriting was so shaky.
Once everyone else woke up, we all went to the diner for breakfast! There was no rush at all. The whole morning was so nice and carefree, and honestly it just felt so good to be goofing off with our core people around us and having such a good time. At one point, Dusty was like “When are you going to get ready!? We are getting married today!!!” hahaha!!
Fast forward to the ceremony. Basically was the highlight of the whole day, Zeus walked me down the “dirt aisle”, Dusty cried a bunch, and Jimmie killed it with our officiant speech (if you haven’t watched our video yet, GO NOW!)
We decided to throw in something a little different in our ceremony. It’s called a Ring Warming Ceremony. We put our rings into a little baggy, and had our nephews Carson and Damian take the rings to our guests and bring them back to us. Basically our wish was that everyone could warm our wedding rings with their love, and blessings for when we exchange them. We aren’t traditional people, but this felt really sweet to us so we decided to add it in!
Our wedding morning was blazing hot ya’ll…but once we finished all our family photos, we got hit with a huge rain storm. And it was AMAZING!!!! It felt so freaking good! Dusty and I completely embraced it and had the best time making out in the rain!!
After taking all our photos, we headed back to the cabins! Our family was already there, hanging out, cooking up dinner for us. We originally planned to have our tables in one long farmhouse long table style in the field in front of the cabins, but due to the rain, Manda + Johnny with Mae + Co Creative and a bunch of staff from the cabins, moved all our tables inside the shed. Thank goodness for them and all their hard work!!!
My mom, her boyfriend David, and my sister had prepared the dinner + deserts before the wedding, and all night spent cooking and making it happen. I seriously couldn’t be more thankful for them and all the work they put into it.
Hands down the best part of the whole party, was when my two nieces got into their ballet outifts, and did a little recital for us. It was hands down the best surprise ever.
Gosh I just want to go back to this day and relive it over + over.
There were so many fun pieces to the day, we had a scavenger hunt, lots of drinking, lots of amazing toasts, incredible food, and just the best day ever.
Oh and I’ve been getting a ton of questions about my husbands colorblind glasses! Yes, he did put them on after the ceremony and he definitely cried! He finally got to see my crazy red hair 😉 We teased him that he couldn’t put them on til after we were officially married! Haha!
Okay well I’d be shocked if you read this whole thing, but I hope you enjoyed our wedding story, and now I hope you enjoy the video + photos!
xx Dawn + Dusty

Such a beautiful couple, thank you so much for sharing. it’s very inspiring seeing something like this. Keep up the good work!.
This is EXACTLY what I have envisioned for my upcoming wedding. Where are these cabins? Heading to the North Cascades this week to do our own location scouting 🙂
Do you have information about the cabins in the the photo’s? I would like to see if that is an option for our wedding. Just need more information on pricing and availability.
Thank you,
Philip
