You guys know that I am a PNW girl through and through. When Michelle and Jen reached out to me about photographing their elopement I was STOKED! They weren’t 100% set on location, but mentioned Big Sur. Don’t get me wrong- that place is GORGEOUSSSS. But it is SO over populated and a well known tourist attraction. Me being a MNW native recommended Samuel H Boardman State Park- they instantly responded and were in love. It was the same look an feel that they wanted but in a super intimate and quiet location. They headed from CA to OR and let me tell you…we had the most incredible day.
You guys, I hadn’t met these ladies til their wedding day. We officially had our first meeting on FaceTime and it was so great, they were together at a park and we talked for SOOO long. I kept in touch so often that when we met face to face, it was as if we had known each other forever. I got to ride up to this spot with one of my best girlfriends and her boyfriend- his name’s Jimmie, he actually officiated my wedding and when Michelle and Jen asked me for recommendations for an officiant I knew I had to tell them about him. We started with their first look which was INSANEEEE, I got to take my ultimate DREAM photo with their dresses hanging in the huge redwoods followed by them getting into them on either side of a huge stump with the help of their moms. We walked to Secret Beach (yes that’s the ACTUAL name, cool huh?) and they let me pick out the best spot. I felt so blessed that they trusted in me so much. They said their vows one by one- after playing rock, paper, scissors to figure out who went first and it was just the best day. We finished it off with a beach side bonfire and champagne. I want to relive this day over and over again. GAHHHH I can’t believe this is my job.
