Getting to host content days & shoots for photographers is one of my favorite things to do in my business. Y’all who have been following me for a while know that I am so passionate about helping other elopement photographers step up their portfolios + level up their businesses. Blake + Trystan’s modern bohemian elopement shoot at Rockaway Beach, Oregon was the most recent chance I got to do just that!!
I worked with my fav elopement planner + designer, Megan of Curated Mess Co, to make this beautiful styled elopement happen. And she freaking CRUSHED it, y’all! Your jaw is going to be on the floor by the end of this blog post. The biggest thank you goes out to Blake + Trystan, who were kind enough to model for us, and who allowed us to capture their love for each other. You two truly brought so much magic to this day!
Who doesn’t love having a yummy breakfast or brunch to start off the day? I loooove reminding my couples that they can take the morning of their elopement day slow, instead of rushing to get ready like they might do on a traditional wedding day.
Have a slow, peaceful morning wherever you’re staying, and do what you like to do at home together! Whether that’s making a fresh cup of coffee, reading books on the couch next to each other, snuggling in bed for a while, or cooking up a yummy meal, the morning is a wonderful time to be present with each other & start the day off on an intimate note.
Blake + Trystan took this to heart for this styled elopement, and showed just how much FUN the morning of your elopement can truly be! They spent some time in the adorable kitchen of the Airbnb together, making pancakes, whisking powder everywhere, cracking eggs. Overall just making a mess + having an absolute blast. It was the sweetest way to start off the day and really take some time to enjoy each other.
Once their stomachs were full of delish pancakes, they headed to the bedroom to get ready for the day. Blake put on his absolutely GORGEOUS beige suit + boutonniere. Meanwhile Trystan rocked an all-black look with a sheer piece underneath & a rad belt + bolo tie. I mean seriously, have you ever seen a more stylish couple than these two?!
Again, they were able to slow down & enjoy this time getting ready with each other, because they had no guests waiting on them or anything. We were able to take some more snuggly photos as they put on every piece of their outfit and took it alllll in.
One of the BEST parts about renting an Airbnb for your elopement is that if it has an outdoor deck, you’ve automatically got a place to hold your ceremony! No need to go to a separate location. You can simply head out to the deck once you’re ready & read your vows. Novella Theory Floral did an absolutely insane job with the florals. The deck of the Airbnb was simple & beautiful already, but the modern boho floral installments really added the perfect eye-catching element to it all!
To end the evening we headed off to the beach for some couples portraits + a beach picnic, of course! Blake + Trystan enjoyed a yummy charcuterie board and some champagne while relaxing at the most adorable picnic setup EVER. Orange & white pillows, a cozy white blanket, wicker baskets, candles and even an elegant cake. Could you imagine anything more romantic?!
I am so so truly grateful that these two amazing humans allowed us into their love story for just a little while. Plus that they were willing to model for us + show us a vulnerable side to them. This will forever be one of my favorite shoots!!
P.S. Be sure to check out the Cozy Renovated A-Frame Cabin that we used if you’re looking for an amazing place to stay at Rockaway Beach!
Thank you soooo much to Megan of Curated Mess Co for designing this INCREDIBLE shoot. Especially to all of the talented vendors who helped it come together!! I could not have pictured more beautiful results!
