I’ve been dying to share this insanely epic elopement with y’all for months now and the time has finally come. Alison + Jacob had the coolest horseback riding elopement ever (yes, horseback riding elopements are a thing!), starting their adventure out in the California Redwoods and ending it on the dreamy beaches of the Southern Oregon Coast. It’s still wild to me that this is my job, capturing other people exploring the world on their elopement days, and I can’t wait for you to see all the incredible photos we got from this day!
By far one of the best + most unique things about eloping on the Southern Oregon Coast is that it is SO close to the California border, meaning you can literally have your elopement in two different states if you want to. With Alison + Jacob, we started in the Redwoods of Northern California and said our goodbyes on the Oregon Coast; these locations just bring me back to A Walk to Remember and being in two places at once. I feel like it’s so cool to say you eloped in two states, and it’s all so close, with such an epic variety in backdrops. And plus, if you hire Curated Mess Co + Isaflora Design Co + me, we will come together to make you the most magical day filled with wildflowers, gorgeous tablescapes, and dreamy decor all the way from California to Oregon (which you’ll see throughout this blog).

Alison + Jacob started their elopement morning off by getting ready in one of my favorite places, the Jedediah Smith Redwoods, and then met up with the cutest horses—yes, horses, from Crescent Trail Rides! There’s seriously no better way to spend your elopement day than with animals by your side, whether that’s your own pups or a couple of gorgeous horses in one of the most stunning forests in the country. These sweet creatures were even wearing the cutest little flower garlands around their heads + on their reins, which went perfectly with the minimalist, nature-inspired decor of this day. Alison + Jacob opted for a super modern boho look when it came to their outfits, featuring minimalist designs with a bit of an elevated touch (like the gorgeous gloves Alison wore), and dreamy neutral tones (like Jacob’s light brown suit). I swear the horses matched their vibe so seamlessly, and they went for the most romantic stroll through the majestic trees! It was such a calm, foggy + quiet morning getting to explore this enchanting forest, and seriously—the photos could not have turned out any dreamier.

After our Redwoods adventure we headed to the Southern Oregon Coast for their vow exchange, at the prettiest spot overlooking the coastline. The mood was so perfect for this ceremony; the atmosphere so enchanting with the clouds rolling over the ocean, the fog seeping through the sea stacks, and the beach grass blowing in the breeze + decorated with gorgeous white wildflowers. I’ll never get over the fact that I get to witness such special moments like this, and that I get to document the moment + help couples tell their story for years to come. What an incredible way to get married to the love of your life, with truly nothing and nobody around you but the sounds of the coast and the feel of the ocean air hitting your skin.
If you’ve ever dreamed of sitting at the most beautiful table with the yummiest of yummiest charcuterie boards, with your favorite person next to you. . .waves crashing, birds soaring over, wild strawberries growing all around your feet + being married all the in the same day…well this was THAT. It might feel too good to be true. But this is also 100% possible for each and every one of you! So we made it happen for Alison + Jacob, who were dreaming up a day like this: an adventure along the Oregon + California coasts, ending with the most romantic picnic overlooking the coastline, decorated with delicate wildflowers, shimmering golden silverware, elevated dinner menus, and blankets to stay cozy in the cool coastal breeze. What a damn dream, y’all—and we can make this reality for you, too!
If you’ve been vibing with this incredible adventure that Alison + Jacob had, then I’d love to help you plan your own dream adventure; be it along the coast + the Redwoods, in the Columbia River Gorge, or deep in the alpine wilderness. You can find out everything there is to know about me + what I offer on my website here, and then get in touch about your unique day here—I can’t wait to authentically document your story and create some art together!
