Y’all I seriously cannot believe this day was real!! Abby + Gil’s Redwoods wedding was one of the most MAGICAL days ever and I have been sooo stoked for you to see it! From horses to flower crowns to foggy beaches to Mexican food, it was truly an Oregon elopement to remember.

The Vision Behind This California + Oregon Elopement Day

As you can already see, Abby + Gil dreamed up an incredible elopement day that was SO UNIQUE to them and their love. They had two visions: they wanted to be on horses, riding in the California Redwoods, eloping in a majestic spot. Aaand they wanted to run off to the Oregon Coast to experience the true moody weather, & end it with spicy margaritas nachos.

Soooo we did both!!

Horses From Crescent Trail Rides

Like I said, these two made ALL their dreams come true and didn’t sacrifice anythinggg. Abby was able to find this amazing company, Crescent Trail Rides, who provide once in a lifetime horseback riding experiences through Northern California! They truly made the day SUCH a fun experience, we literally rode horses through the giant Redwoods of California, and stopped once we found the perfect spot for their ceremony! 

A Ceremony in the Redwoods

Seriously when I tell you the light shined down on this spot to tell us it was the RIGHT SPOT, it really happened that way! This spot allowed them to be surrounded by the forest, with horses behind them eating ferns as they said their vows – no biggie. A literal scene out of a movie if you ask me! This was their dream, and they made it happen!

Flower Crowns by Freckled Fleurs

Another part of Abby + Gil’s horses-in-the-forest elopement dream included them both being COVERED in florals, so they both wore the most gorgeous flower crowns created by Freckled Fleurs. And of COURSE, the horses did too!! The gorgeous pink flowers they used looked freaking magical against the beautiful greens of the Redwoods. 

Sunset Wedding Portraits on the Oregon Coast

After wrapping up the first part of the day, we headed to one of my fav spots on the southern Oregon Coast, Secret Beach, for some wedding portraits of Abby + Gil. There was nobody there except for us and the INSANE fog everywhere – we were able to capture such cool and unique moody PNW portraits of these two babes! I can’t even explain what it’s like to watch their easily visible connection – they truly are so in love.

Mexican Food? Hell Yeah!

To end the day, Abby + Gil wanted to get food at a rad Mexican restaurant nearby, and wanted it to be as CHEESY as possible (pun intended)! They drank margs, ate chips & salsa, and took in everything that they’d done that day.

This is why elopements are so incredible: there are no rules, nobody to host or impress. They’re just about you, your partner, + your love, and to celebrate your FUTURE.
