I’ve been obsessed with Abby + Royce’s incredible Oregon Coast intimate wedding since the moment I arrived at their Airbnb that morning and felt all the love that was in the room. I got to explore so many beautiful parts of the coast with these two and their family, from the dramatic cliffs of Elk Flats to the foggy shores of Hug Point, and every single part of their Arch Cape elopement adventure was so special in its own way. More days like this please!
There’s literally nothing more magical than eloping on the Oregon Coast, where the lush coastal woods meet the rugged cliffs and the sandy beaches; where you can explore dark caves and splash around tidepools one minute, and find yourself in the middle of a gorgeous forest the next. Abby and Royce truly took advantage of all the diverse beauty that the coast has to offer, choosing my Sunrise to Sunset package so that I could spend the morning with them, break away for a few hours, then reconnect for the afternoon. This was the perfect way to make sure they had plenty of time to drive around + see all the sights, and still enjoy a slow, present, and intentional day.
Alsoooo, the amount of small details throughout this day that brought me back to Twilight was literally fueling my soul. We all know I’m addicted to Twilight, so I freaking loved the fact that Abby and Royce intentionally planned time to play baseball on the beach + get those Twilight vibes! If you wanna sprinkle your love (or obsession) with Twilight into your own elopement day, make sure you check out my blog with 8 Twilight-Inspired Elopement Locations in the PNW (which includes La Push itself, obviously!) 🙂
Abby + Royce’s day started with writing their vows in their A-frame cabin at the base of a forest, where they spent some quiet moments cuddling on the couch, sipping on mimosas, and watching the breeze blow in the trees that surrounded the cabin. Dedicating even just a little bit of free time in the morning before you start your elopement is one of the best ways to slow down + be present on your wedding day. This time for just the two of them was especially meaningful given that the rest of the day would be spent with their kids; it allowed them space to simply be together, reflect on their journey, and get excited for all the rest that was yet to come.
We then adventured to an overlook along Elk Flats Trail to get their first glimpse of the Oregon Coast, and were greeted with the most beautiful fog, wildflowers—even a handful of sea lions playing in the ocean. It felt like the coast was giving us all its beauty at once, with sun rays shining down onto the grass, wildflowers blowing in the breeze, and fog blowing through the cliffs as the waves hit the shores below. They laid out a blanket and R played his guitar + sang while A enjoyed the moment with her person; it was the sweetest little moment between the two of them before they headed off to join up with their family.
This overlook is without a doubt one of the most epic spots on the Oregon Coast—see another gorgeous Elk Flats elopement here!
We met back up a few hours later to take their kids to the beach for a baseball game + treasure hunting; legit the most fun way to create memories with your fam on your special day! After making some core memories together on the beach, everyone headed back to their cabin to get ready for their Arch Cape elopement ceremony, which they did at Hug Point (one of my fave locations on the coast).
A little backstory: Abby and Royce each had a kid of their own from previous relationships, so when they got together, they joined up their kids too, and it was so cool to see them all connecting as a family. Abby’s daughter cried when her mom got married to Royce that day on the beach, which was so special and emotional for everyone. A + R are the kindest, most loving people and have truly surrounded themselves with others who are just as amazing. They showed them so much love + support as they tied the knot on the beach, amidst the moody PNW magic, the fog, and the sounds of the ocean—it was magic.

After Abby and Royce had officially become Mr. and Mrs., we popped over to Short Sand Beach, which is truly a hidden gem in Oswald West State Park, for a few portraits. We spent the rest of the day simply enjoying this incredible time with their closest people back at their Airbnb, where they enjoyed a beautiful dinner together. So many hugs and tears were shared, and so much love was overflowing throughout this entire day that I was beyond grateful to have been a part of!
