Alesia & James’s intimate wedding at Wind Mountain Ranch was pure magic; this instantly became my new Hood River wedding venue. If you’re dreaming of having your own ranch wedding without even leaving the PNW, this venue is the one you need—you’re going to fall head-over-cowboy-boots in love with the views, the decor, and the cozy cabin vibes Wind Mountain Ranch has to offer 🤍

We started off the day enjoying the quiet beauty of this location in the mountains; taking in the sunshine, the gorgeous blue skies, and the lush greenery of the hills in the distance. There is NOTHING like peaceful mornings in the Columbia River Gorge, and Alesia & James made sure to take advantage of that! They didn’t feel rushed heading into their wedding day; no, they were intentional about taking the morning slow, embracing the relaxed pace of ranch life.
And it helps that the cabins at Wind Mountain ranch are absolutely INCREDIBLE, and were totally designed for mornings like these: panoramic views through the windows, gorgeous floral wallpaper that’s giving all the romantic cottage-core vibes, thoughtfully-designed interiors and sun-drenched patios… I think Alesia & James could’ve stayed here forever and been totally content (and so could I).
While these two settled into Cabin #2 and unpacked their bags, I fully embraced the morning light that was seeping through the curtains & used it for allll the dreamy detail shots. Alesia had brought a bottle of her favorite perfume to make her feel her best on her wedding day, and it just so happened to be in a gorg bottle that made a lovely addition to their flatlay! Off to the side, these two cuties just couldn’t HELP but start to get excited together, snuggling up on the couch & looking like absolute angels in the sunshine. I knew I had to capitalize on the morning glow that would disappear soon, so I stepped back and allowed these two to do their thing while I snapped portraits. This is your sign to take getting ready couples portraits even before you have your attire on—especially if you’re like Alesia and bring a dreamy outfit to wear for them, like a silk chemise or lingerie nightgown!
Right before getting dressed, Alesia and James finalized their vows—in the same room, where they could share in the emotions and excitement of the day together. 10/10 recommend writing your vows near each other to help you take it alllll in. Plus, it makes for an amazing opportunity for candid portraits!

Before it was time to tie the knot, we actually explored the grounds of the venue a bit more for couples portraits! We hadn’t chosen a ceremony spot yet, so we thought we’d check out our options: the mountain-view pond, the many grassy lawn areas, even the road you take to enter the venue underneath the “Wind Mountain Ranch” sign. But once we saw this overlook that offered such amazing views of the Gorge, we knew it was the one.
Alesia & James hadn’t decided who was going to say their vows first, so they legit played rock paper scissors to figure it out—and it was so adorable! Both of them were just so thrilled to be there together; giggling, smiling, kissing in between their vows and wiping tears off their cheeks… I couldn’t have imagined a more breathtaking spot for these two to promise their lives and love to one another.
Pro tip: This spot was beautiful, but ALSO incredibly windy and chilly. If you decide to have your own wedding at this overlook, make sure to bring a stylish jacket to put on once your ceremony is over!

One of the most amazing parts of getting married at Wind Mountain Ranch is that there are truly endless spots for jaw-dropping portraits. Even just in and around the cabin where Alesia and James got ready… along with the grassy hills, the pond, the overlook, and more! You could seriously go anywhere on this property and be met with picturesque landscapes, charming details, and amazing architecture that the venue owner has so thoughtfully curated.
And my fave portraits of the day? When Alesia grabbed her Super 8 camera! She’s a videographer herself, so of course we had to take photos of her and James playing around with their Super 8. Incorporating unique and meaningful details like this are an easy way to personalize your portraits, and tie them back to the passions and hobbies you love! What a perfect way to end this day <3

Isn’t this venue spectacular, y’all? I couldn’t leave you hanging without sharing more about it, in case you’re considering it for your own Hood River wedding… which you absolutely should.
